What is an IEO (Initial Exchange Offerings)?

IEO Initial exchange offerings is a fundraising event that is administered by a token issuer by a cryptocourrency exchange. A token issuer is usually a new enterprise which is making a crypto as an asset class to raise the most needed capital. This token issuer usually pays the listing fee and percentage of the tokens sold on the exchange via the IEO to the cryptocurrency exchange.
In return, Cryptocurrency exchanges are not only obliged to sell the issued tokens, but also after the completion of fundraising event, the token list will be given on the exchange. More importantly, the exchange is encouraged to actively promote tokens because it receives the percentage of tokens sold in the offer. Thus, in the IEO, both exchange and token issuers engage in token marketing.
